BC Provincial Historica Fair ProgramLocation: Victoria, BC Dates: June 29th, 30th, July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 2009 Event Slide Show Travel: To be arranged by Provincial Fair Committee and subsidized by the BC Heritage Fairs Society. Participants will be either flown in or bussed in to Victoria. Students from each participating Regional Site will be accompanied by an adult chaperone. Accommodations: The University of Victoria Campus Residence Structure: Monday, June 29, 2009 – travel day to Victoria, dinner and evening activities Tuesday, June 30, 2009 – Student activity day and field trips. Swimming in the evening. Wednesday, July 1, 2009 – Exhibition Day at the Crystal Gardens Conference Centre from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm. Remainder of the Day to join in the Canada Day Celebrations and concerts provided by the city of Victoria. Thursday, July 2, 2009 – Student Activity Day and Field Trips. Lunch on the grounds at Government House. Friday, July 3rd, 2009 – Travel day home. Cost: There will be no cost factor incurred by each participating site as all travel costs, food and accommodation costs will be met by the BC Heritage Fairs Society. Participants are asked to provide their own packed lunch while travelling to the Fair. A packed lunch for travelling home will be provided. Participation: Students must have developed a heritage project in accordance with the guidelines established by each participating region. Through each region’s selection process, recommendations will be made from the site coordinator. Participation is open to students from grades four to ten.
